Marco Antonio Juan de Dios Cuartas is PhD in Musicology and Audio Engineer. He graduated in History and Music Sciences at the University of Oviedo (Principality of Asturias, Spain) and then graduated with "First Class Honours" in Recording Arts at the Middlesex University of London. He has a great amount of teaching experience in different educational levels, from secondary education to university education, where he has taught lessons on Music Theory, History of Music, Popular Music, Composition, Production and Computer Music. His PhD entitled "The role of the music producer in Spain: methodological proposals for a musicological analysis" is a pioneering research in the analysis of musical production within Spanish musicology. He has been responsible for the academic programs of audio production and music industry at the School of Audio Engineering - SAE Institute in Madrid (Spain). He is a member of ASARP (Association for the Study of the Art of Record Production) and IASPM (International Association for the Study of Popular Music), associations in which he participates actively. As a member of the SIbE-Ethnomusicology Society, he coordinates the reserach group in music production. Author of the blog orbitasonica.com, he is currently an associate professor in the Musicology Department of the Complutense University of Madrid, as well as being part of the Audio Production Program staff in SAE Institute in Madrid, an activity that he combines with different musical projects as freelance producer and engineer.
